Will SEO Guarantee Me Rankings?

I completely understand the desire of companies and owners to have their websites rank on the first page of search engines and maintain that position. I have heard so many times through my experience in SEO, clients asking why rankings keep changing, if there is anything wrong, why rankings can’t be guaranteed. I am sure there are many SEO companies that will sell “guaranteed rankings” as part of their sales pitch; just be careful and inform yourself before choosing a reputable company that will handle your SEO services for your website.

What SEO can do for you? Search Engine Optimization, commonly known as SEO, is not a science nor a static process.  It is an everyday evolving process that will help your website to get visible through the different search engines in a “natural” way, and by natural I mean unpaid. The optimization process of your website involves different factors that you should consider, just keep in mind that they keep changing and evolving all the time and that is the main reason why rankings keep changing on a frequent basis. Not only this, but what your competition is doing will affect the rankings too.  It is a continuous battle to be number one.

Just to mention a few factors that can play a role:

  • Content
  • HTML
  • Architecture of your website
  • Links
  • Being Social on the web
  • Personal factors/Location factors

It is valid to say that no single feature will guarantee your success.  It is more a combination of factors that will help, some of them will have a heavier impact than others.  It involves continuous change and work, an ongoing process that will help out, but remember will not guaranteed you a number 1 (one) position.

It does not matter if you build a beautiful website that can’t be found, that is why SEO can be critical and necessary.  In the end it is the process that will help your website to become visible to the eye of potential customers; without SEO search engine robots are not able to find your website.  It allows engines to understand what your website is about and how it can be useful for consumers.
