On Thursday, May 30th, I (Nathan Allen, Business Development & Marketing Coordinator) had the pleasure of attending the launch party for Google’s new training and AdWords management tool called Google Partners; with Drew Dekker (Owner of NetGain). We were joined by a few hundred other marketing agencies and web development firms from around Canada and from as far away as Australia, to hear the keynote speech and other information sessions throughout the day.
The Google Partners program is being tested in the Canadian market before it officially gets expanded into other countries. In typical Google fashion, the event had interactive stations showing off the Google Chrome Books, a design your own Android t-shirt station, an Android tablet controlled ball maze and a variety of other unique features that made this first ever event truly special.
While the focus was on the launch of the Google Partners program, visit www.google.com/partners for full details on the platform, it was more of an interactive networking session with guest speakers discussing trends in online marketing, future innovations and a variety of other topics.
Having never attended a Google event previously, I was happy to see that all of the speakers at the event were happy to chat and engage with attendees at a one-on-one level. I had a great conversation with Tim Frank, Product Manager at Google and one of the brains behind the Google Partners Program and Keynote speaker at the event.
In the end, it was a great day all around with some exciting new things going on at Google and a great networking event. It was definitely worth the trip to Toronto and it’s not every day you get to attend an exclusive Google event launching a new product!
I speak on behalf of myself and NetGain when I say that we are very excited to expand our ongoing relationship with Google and the opportunities this gives our clients.
