First off who wouldn’t want to see their boss busting a move on the dance floor? No one! Let’s just say it was a great Monday morning for all of us here at NetGain to watch Drew turn into a modern day Gene Kelly. Dancing with the stars Barrie is a charity event where the members of the local business community come together to support Easter Seals. Easter Seals provides programs and services to children and youth with physical disabilities across Ontario.
On Friday April 12th Dancing With the Stars Barrie raised $65,000 for kids with disabilities. It was the single largest one night fundraiser in Easter Seals Barrie’s history. Drew came in second in online voting raising $3250.00 with NetGain contributing a total $5500. Easter Seals Ontario has been helping children with disabilities for the past 90 years. They provide financial assistance for expensive equipment like elevators, wheelchairs, walkers, braces and fully accessible camps. Not only do Easter Seals help children with disabilities they bring the community together in events like dancing with the stars.
Drew Dekker is active with many charities around the Barrie area such as Dragon Boat, which supports over 30 charities and Rainbow’s Canada. Drew is also part of the Rotary Club of Barrie Huronia, where he puts continuous support on charity initiatives such as this one.
