Congratulations to Annalyn A. who recently won Netgain’s SEO challenge at Georgian College.
Netgain SEO’s founder, Drew Dekker, teaches the web content development course at Barrie’s Georgian College. The challenge was a class assignment, where web development students were tasked to create a website using WordPress, and use on page and off page SEO techniques to get the highest ranking on Google for an imaginary keyword – Faloolmaoism- that previously generated no search results.
The students at current tally generated 2500 unique search results on Google over the period of 3 weeks.
The winner of the challenge, Annalyn A., achieved the top ranking site on Google with her www.faloolmaoism.org/ site. She used a combination of great on page SEO techniques, back end web development, and off page techniques that encompassed social media, social bookmarking and various submissions and link building.
